UWA Athletics Club and UWA Little Athletics moving to One Club
The University of Western Australia Athletics Club is proud to be Western Australia’s oldest athletics club, established in 1928, and one of the State’s most successful athletics communities. UWA Little Athletics, previously known as Perry Lakes Little Athletics, joined with UWA Athletics Club in 2007, creating the strong partnership we have today.
We are excited to be taking the next step in this journey by moving towards a One Club model.
This is an important step in strengthening the long-term future of athletics at UWA. While the governance structure will change, the day-to-day experience for athletes and families will remain largely the same. The existing Junior and Senior Subcommittees will continue to manage their respective programs, competitions and operations.
The move to One Club is designed to create a clearer and more connected pathway for athletes from Little Athletics through to junior, open and masters competition. It will also support a stronger club identity, improved coordination, shared benefits for members, reduced duplication and a more sustainable structure for the future.
Most importantly, this change is about benefiting athletes, families and members while preserving the history, identity and strengths of both UWAAC and UWALAC. Our club will continue to focus on providing a welcoming, inclusive and high-quality athletics environment for athletes of all ages and abilities.
